Document Overview/Purpose:

In this tutorial, I will show you how to provision a computer using Autopilot & Intune.

Prerequisites: You will have to add a computer to the autopilot devices list. Click here for the tutorial on that.

Process and Procedures:

Guidelines:

- A step-by-step guide to full completion (Should be able to be performed by [insert anything here])

- Include screenshots, diagrams, and other visual aids as necessary to help understand the process

- Consider adding warnings, notes, and tips throughout the process to help avoid common pitfalls

PART 1

1. Step 1 Figure out which user is getting a computer

2. Get a computer for that user

3. Get the computers serial number

4. Log into Intune

5.Click on "Groups"

6. Type the site and department of where the computer is going (putting auto at the beginning helps whittle it down)

7. Click the group

8.  Select "Members"

9. Click "Add members"

10. Type in the serial number of the computer

11. Check the box next to the target computer

12. Click "Select" down at the bottom of the blade. Give it a few minutes to propagate.

13. Grab the computer that you selected at the beginning and place it at the staging area (which can be anywhere with an internet connection).

14. Plug the power cable into the back of the computer. Its a barrel plug and should fit snugly into the cylindrical port.

NOTE: If the barrel plug power port isnt there, try turning the computer around.

15. Plug in the display cable to the back of the computer as shown below.

16.  Plug the ethernet cable into the ethernet port on the back of the computer.

The result should look like this.

17. Turn your computer back around so the power button is facing you. Then plug in your input devices such as your mouse and keyboard.

Mouse

Keyboard

18. Press the power button to turn on the computer. (Please make sure the power adapter is plugged into the power outlet in the wall).

The result should look like this.

19. Allow the computer to boot up.

20. Do nothing. You can click on the "Show details" if you like to watch the process.

NOTE: You can skip passed this if you want though it is NOT recommended to click continue anyway before "device preparation" portion is complete! If the process takes more than 15-20 minutes it will present an error page where you can select "Continue anyway." However, if it does not present the error page, power cycling the computer is ok. It will show up.

21. Watch magic happen.

PART 2

1. Go to Intune. Click "Devices" in the far left blade

2. Click on "Windows"

3. Click "Windows devices" and then search for the computer using the search bar to confirm its been named. Click on the Device

24. Verify all apps are installed because clicking on "Managed Apps"

NOTE!!!!

When the computer asks you to sign in and it builds the profile, go to power settings and change the sleep setting to "Never". This will get overwritten when the timer config applies. We just need to make sure the computer doesnt go to sleep while its trying to install stuff.

The apps will begin installing. It will take some time for all the config to install. I recommend leaving it for 5-10 minutes while it does this.
